A day trip to the wine making region of the Douro valley is a must. With hikers on, backpack and trekking poles in hand, it's off to walk the Camino Portuguese. The Camino, or “The Way”, is a network of medieval paths across Spain and Europe that all lead to one final destination – the city of Santiago De Compostela. Situated in the Celtic region of Galicia in north-western Spain, Santiago has attracted countless walkers and pilgrims for over a thousand years to the final resting place of St. James the apostle. I have no time frame, no set goals, just walk until i get tired. It could be 15 days or 25 days.
September 2024
Much of my plans for September are fluid. As I finish the Camino Portuguese in Santiago de Compostela in Northwest Spain, i will spend a few days resting and deciding my next move.
