The Absolute Safari - September 17 - 19 - Botswana

After a few amazing days in Victoria Falls, it was time to say goodbye to some friends who were leaving us. We packed up our tents and bags and hopped on the big yellow truck to country # 8 - Botswana. From the vast Kalahari Desert to the Okavango Delta, Botswana is home to some of the most endangered animals in the world. I 've been looking forward to visiting Botswana and its two major National Parks, Chobe and the Okavango Delta. Only an hour from Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park is known for massive herds of 50,000 elephants converging on the riverfront during the dry season.
We made it to camp in time to relax, swim in the pool, hang out and play cards. Up early the next morning, we packed into 4 x 4 jeeps to go on a morning game drive and afternoon cruise on the Chobe River. Chobe did not disappoint as the views were amazing. We watched small herds of elephants crossed in front of our jeeps. Gazelles pose for the camera and hippos swimming among lily pads
.

Leaving Chobe, we drove through Makgadikgadi Salt Pans on the edge of the Kalahari Desert to Maun.
