Travelling by Mokoro - Okavango Delta

There is nothing in the world quite like the Okavango Delta. It's vast and varied ecosystem is created as the Okavango River flows into the Kalahari Desert in Botswana. We gathered our tents and day bags, loaded them on a 4x 4 jeep for the hour ride to the river. But alas the Jeep in front of us had a flat tire and no working wrench. An hour later with replacement parts we were on our way. At the river we paired up with our Mokoro driver. Through the reeds she steered our canoe for the two-night stay.

At basecamp, with tents set up and dinner being cooked for us went on an afternoon game walk. Elephants in the distance as the sun set.

The following day were a lot of optional activities, sunrise bush walk, swimming in the water hole, card games and sunset Mokoro rides.
